I can't believe I've done it!
I’ve wanted to write this book for the last several years, and while I may never know what held me back for so long, I’m happy to say that with only FOUR solid days of writing 6+ hours each day, it has been completed. The last three chapters I’ve spent sobbing my eyes out. This entire book was inspired by the amazing life my grandmother lived through prohibition, the Great Depression, World War II, the loss of her first child, and being abandoned by the only man she ever loved.
I’m an emotional wreck, but I admire that incredibly strong woman more than ever. Holy crap.
HOWEVER, while the book is inspired by my grandmother, this is a work of fiction and should NOT be seen as a biopic. She was a remarkable woman, but some parts of the story have been embellished for the sake of the book, and I'm not going to indicate which.
Second book of the year, done.
